Description
A-100 is the fourth entity you will encounter in Interminable Rooms. It moves at a quick pace, being capable of covering the distance between it and the player absurdly quick, it is best to hide once hearing it. Upon spawn, A-100 makes a slight, distorted airhorn that can be barely heard. After spawning, it makes a loud, unnerving screaming sound, with silent whirring in the background.
A-100 functions like most Runners, beginning at the lobby and charging toward the most recent room. However, what makes it stand out from previous entities is that, instead of de-spawning, or simply rebounding when it hits a closed door, it will drastically lessen the intensity of its screen-shake as soon as it gets to the center of the room. At the same time, it will then check all lockers/fridges in the room, starting from the locker closest to the bottom left corner and moving clockwise. Backtracking into another room or hiding under a table or a functional blue locker should keep a player safe from the entity. Opening the door to and going to the next room can also work, although only do this AS SOON as you hear the spawn cue, as any later and it may not work at all.
After checking all grey lockers/fridges, it will start moving back to the center for about half a second, changing the screen-shake intensity back to normal. A-100 will then move back to the lobby, in which it de-spawns.
A-100's old mechanic was to rebound 2-4 times before despawning, similar to other entities.
Appearance
A-100 appears as 5 distinct faces, however only 2 faces are shown at a time, and can occasionally be duplicates of each other. The faces switch from time to time, like A-60. It is the only entity that is not a variant or doppelgänger of A-60 to do so.
The first face is a hollow, simplistic, masculine-like face. The eyes, nose, and mouth only use simple lines for their shapes.
The second is a light grey-filled face, bearing the emotion of cheekiness. Notable features of this face are one row of teeth, inadequate eyelashes, and thick eyebrows. The origin of this face comes from a 1950's commercial about the car gas company, Esso (which is now Exxon) (0:53), hence the lower quality.
The third face is 5 crops of human eyes bearing different eye colors. The way they are stacked is that three are on the right side, layered vertically, and two on the left, in place next to the gaps separating those on the other side. This is also stretched to a circle game, aside from its jumpscare.
The fourth face is a black face with broken, withered runoff down every part of it. The eyes seem to be like goggle eyes and a little cross-eyed. The nose is shaped like an arrowhead pointing upward and its mouth resembles a realistic jaw with rounded rectangular teeth. The face is a low-quality version of a face made by a DeviantArt user AmamizuChan (otherwise known as "Laura"), in which the face bares her signature on the right of its mouth. In the game, A-100 bares this face stretched into a square, except if the image ever appears in its jumpscare, in which it stays in its regular size. You can find the original here.
The fifth and final face is a mouth and eyes crop of a popular creepypasta, called Jeff the Killer. The eyes are tilted to be aligned and the mouth is closer. This face is small compared to something like face four.
In the game, A-100 eludes a deep purple-magenta glow, which hue sits between that of A-278, X-35, and A-5 (IRBI200P exclusive).
Strategy & Tips
- To survive an attack from A-100, players must get in hiding spots that are not a grey locker or fridge (functional blue locker, table).
- Players can survive in a grey locker or fridge if they are not in the latest room.
- Even if A-100 is not present, you should try not to hide in dark lockers/fridges since A-100 may spawn. This especially should be considered when slower entities like A-15 are present.
- If A-278 is present, you should try to hide in a previous room, as A-100 may spawn and check your hiding spot.
- A-100 and A-60 tend to have their screen-shakes at roughly the same intensity, thus players should hide under a table when the latter's static is not heard.
- This should especially be used on mobile devices, since A-60 may temporarily disrupt audio output.
Glitches & Bugs
- A-100 can get stuck in a random room after checking lockers, this could serve as an audio distraction and be a big threat in multiplayer servers. This bug is extremely rare. (0.00001%)
- When A-100 is rebounding back to A-000 to despawn, it can sometimes overshoot the player, leaving them alive. [Confirmation Needed]
- A-100 can sometimes collide with objects and get flung a little bit, such as the table in the conference room.
Notes
- If the most recent room has no lockers, A-100 will stay in the room for around 0.5 seconds, then head back to the lobby to despawn.
- It is one of the few entities that can be summoned by A-300, and this variation will still check any present grey lockers.
Trivia
- A-100's old behavior was A-35 but faster and rebounded 2-4 times. A-100's new mechanic was probably made because there were already so many entities that rebound in-game.
- A-100's ambience is so loud, you can hear it as soon as it spawns, assuming the player is at door A-100.
- A-100 is faster than A-60 by about 6.39 RPS (rooms per second).
- A-100's screen-shake is nowhere to be seen if the player is hiding in rooms A-001 to A-005.
- This is due to that A-100's screen-shake occurs after it is finished playing its spawn cue.
- A-100 has a similar face to V-50 and A-332, that being its first face.
- According to Zvardin, A-100 loves hamburgers[Reference Needed]
- According to Zvardin, A-100 sells drugs on the dark web. [1]
- A-100 once stole 10,000 dollars from the bank.[2]
- A-100 hates A-245.[3] Most likely due to the latter breaking the lockers while it has to check them.
- Just like A-150 and A-200, A-100 has a family, and consists of 8 members (see gallery below).
- On A-100's family image (listed below), the 6th family member shown on there is confirmed to be named "R-101".
- A-100's fifth face origin comes from an Esso Dealer ad and the original video is here.
- If grey lockers are destroyed by A-245, A-100 will fling the door in a similar manner to A-150, making quite a comical scene.
- A-100 is 37 years old.[4]
- A-100's favourite music genre is rock music. [5]
- A-100 is allergic to cheese[Reference Needed]
- Because of this, A-332 filled lockers with cheese.
- According to Zvardin, A-100 loves murder VERY much. [Reference Needed]
- A-100 takes out the locker door and bashes the door into the player to kill them.[6]
- This isn't shown in-game, however.
- A-100 hates CHES-278, likely due to it being allergic to cheese.[7]
- A-100 has an X-variant called X-100, this variant will be used in recoded in one of it's gamemodes called "X-treme", It is unknown if X-100 was gonna also be in the main game or in the main recoded gamemode.
- A-100 once went to the store to buy some stuff that was running out (eggs, bread, fruit etc.) but instead found a crocodile inside it. A-100 then insulted the crocodile and was attacked by it.[8]
