Description

A-200, also known as "The Happy Scribble",[1] is the ninth main entity encountered in Interminable Rooms, being encountered, hence its name, on and after room A-200. The entity stems from the original game Rooms, being a carryover, similarly to A-60.

A-200 will spawn in similar conditions to other runners, however starkly differs due to the factor that the entity appears in front of the player instead of behind the player. The distance it spawns from the player is 4 rooms away, and it takes a few seconds before passing the latest room, around five seconds.

Generally, it spawning is notified via a loud thump or clank, followed by the sound of wind on the other side of the unopened door. After a few seconds have passed, with A-200 presumably remaining idle, the entity will promptly rush through the furthest room that's been opened and continue in a straight line at a moderate speed, killing any players who aren't hiding.

While the entity passing may be at first a sign of safety, but don't be fooled, as a player exiting their hiding spot will cause A-200 to rebound backward and directly toward the player, seemingly directly targeting them instead of taking its initially straight pattern, risking the player dying, similar to the entities from the original rooms. Though, avoiding this additional attack is trivial, as hiding once again should cease the ensuing attack.

Should the player adequately hide for long enough, A-200 will disappear, identified by the audio cue of a louder, lower-pitched rendition of its ambient noise. The time it takes for A-200 to despawn has not been determined. A-200 is able to despawn in the midst of its rebound, should the player leave their hiding spot late, because it has an aim script.

Appearance

A-200 appears as it does in Rooms, appearing to be a white crudely drawn smiley face, which actively shifts and motions as if animated.

Unlike its Rooms iteration, it has six frames, compared to the original five.

Strategy & Tips

  • To survive an attack from A-200, players must get in a hiding spot (locker, functional blue locker, table, fridge).
  • Prolonging staying in a hiding spot is integral, due to A-200 having the inherent capability of rebounding.

Notes

  • A-200 emits a bright white light, unlike in the original Rooms, where it lacks light.
  • A-200 will make a lower pitched version of the wind sound after despawning.
  • A-200 will only rebound back if any player behind it is unhidden. As stated in the description, it will cease its rebound once all players are hidden.
  • Very rarely, A-200 may instantly kill players that use teleports from room 200 onward.
  • A-200 will emerge from the latest door after approximately 3-5 seconds.
  • There is a chance that A-200 can spawn in the lobby, although it is extremely rare. A-200's screen-shaking effect cannot be seen unless it is within a one to two room radius of the player. The screen-shaking that it causes is faint, similar to A-183.

Trivia

  • Stated in its description, A-200 is from the Original Rooms.
  • Several entities, according to Zvardin, sell items. A-200 sells air in this case. [2]
  • Like A-60, A-200's creator, nicorocks5555 - has given the entity the nickname 'The Happy Scribble.' [1]
  • Each time its in its moving sequence, it may return back for no reason, even if all players are hiding. The reason for this is because of another entity is in front of it, causing it to rebound back.
    • This is likely a bug.
  • A-200 is one of the most iconic entities in Rooms, including A-60.
  • Stated by Zvardin, A-200 appeared to have had a disliking towards A-150.Posted by Zvardin on discord
    • This is no longer the case as they "got bored with fighting" (according to zvardin)
  • According to Zvardin, A-200 is made from air. [Reference Needed]
  • A-200 can still spawn if the AE/AV Section glitch is done, so players should not completely forget about Section A entities as they can still spawn.
  • A-200 and A-60 have identical jumpscares, using the same frame animation, colour pattern, and sound. However, there are notable differences, such as the colour itself and the former changing faces per frame.
  • Similarly to A-150, A-200 also has a family, but the rest of the family members do not appear in-game.
  • The older iteration of A-200 acted similar to the now-removed A-246, except that it would only rebound once, instantly despawning upon hitting the closed door again without any cue. This may have influenced the reason for A-246's removal.
  • Most of A-200's faces are merely recreations of the ones from the original game.
    • In earlier versions of the game, A-200 used to have the same faces as the original A-200.
  • Rainbow-200, also known as A-200's April Fools 2023 Event variant, is the first entity to appear to have a rainbow effect in-game, the second being U-60 third being E-175.
  • According to Zvardin, A-200 likes rice. [3]
  • A-200 inside of Interminable Rooms but it's 200 players makes a spawn sound and a despawn sound before it is visible meaning that it is not a threat.
  • According to Zvardin, A-200 is getting a redesign because the current version looked off. [4]
    • The redesign has now already been implemented into the game.
  • A-200 is in the Recoded Update, but it spawns in the lobby and does nothing.
    • This has been fixed in the latest update.
  • A-200's most recognizable wind sound's origin is from a 2012 trailer of a movie called "The Woman In Black"
    • The sound starts at 0:07 and is sped up, cut and edited to become A-200's sound.
