Description
E-22 is the second Section E entity as well as the first runner-type entity of said section. It makes its appearance a few rooms ahead of the first entity, E-1 and appears twenty rooms before the third entity, E-42. It will start spawning upon reaching room E-022.
To describe its behavior, E-22 will begin at the start of its section — within the room located before E-001 — and will make its way towards the last room before despawning. E-22 doesn't prove to be a notable hindrance to the player's goal of reaching the next section as it can be dealt with easily like any other runner-type entity. Furthermore, it exhibits a very audible sound cue which can be heard a substantial amount of rooms ahead.
Appearance
E-22 appears as a cyclops with a grin — it appears to share an identical smile to A-15. It has an orange-colored smile and a similarly colored eye, only difference being it having a white colored pupil. E-22 is accompanied by a trail of black smoke that barely engulfs the entity and emits various orange lightning particles sparking out.
Strategy & Tips
- To reiterate, E-22, like other runner-type entities, can be avoided by simply hiding in any hiding spot.
- Another attribute that is important when it comes to avoiding E-22 is listening for its sound cue, though this shouldn't be much trouble considering how loud it is. Players are able to progress a few rooms forward when they hear its sound cue, but are advised to hide when they think the entity is close by.
- Despite this, E-22 can cover up the sound cues of other entities that are present, most importantly E-142. A somewhat efficient way of denoting another entities presence with E-22 is by paying attention to the screen-shake that is being caused. It will cause very heavy screen-shaking when it is about two rooms behind the player and E-142 will cause heavy screen-shaking when it is about five to ten rooms behind the player.
- Players don't have to hide immediately if they hear E-22 in the distance. It will take time for E-22 to catch up to the current room. Try to get through as many rooms as possible before E-22 gets near.
Notes
- E-22 is one of the more basic and easier to evade entities within Section E as it can be dealt with similarly to A-15.
- This means it is unlikely to pose any threats during ones run, only slowing player(s) down.
- If the player has selected the E-100 Checkpoint, it should be noted that E-22 will always arrive first to the latest room as E-60's speed is registered to be in its initial speed, which is slower than that of E-22's.
- If a checkpoint above E-100 is chosen, E-142 will always arrive first.
Trivia
- E-22's first image was posted in one of Zvardin's YouTube community posts.[1]
- Its appearance was likely altered to protect its true appearance before the update that added it, though it was hinted that it was orange than red.
- E-22 was planned to have a jumpscare with lightning shooting at the player for Recoded update
- When choosing a checkpoint such as E-100, E-200, etc., E-22 will spawn immediately and will make its way towards the latest room, shortly being followed by E-60. This is caused by the opening of rooms E-022 and E-060 when the player is teleported to their desired checkpoint. They will spawn at the lobby and will traverse through the rooms until they reach their destination. If players choose a checkpoint above E-100, E-142 may spawn alongside the two mentioned entities.
- E-22 was initially thought to be E-10, or E-120, likely due to its smile or its single eye (or both).
- It is also worth noting that E-10 is an admin entity, and was merely an altered image of E-22 to hide its true appearance before the addition thereof.
- E-22's Teaser in its original color pallet is the same as the original one but slightly tilted.
- According to Zvardin, E-22 can see clearly in the dark, which is probably the reason why its pupil is white.[2] Its pupil is also a light source.[3]
- Because of this, E-22 once accidentally hurt (an?) E-1's eyes when it asked E-22 a question. The question was if E-22 wanted to buy one of its drawings.
- E-22 has a new X-Variant, that being XE-22.
- E-22 and E-60 know the actual names of E-142 and E-144 while their mother, Alexio was visiting. Both started to laugh before being beaten up by E-142.[4]
- E-22, and presumably the other E-Section entities can spawn in the A-Section in Rebuilt.
- E-22 strikes down the player with its electricity particles to kill them.[5]
- Because of this, E-22 likely has the power to control electricity and/or lightning.
- E-22 sucks at cooking.
