Description

E-60, also nicknamed as "The Doppelganger",[1] is the fourth Section E runner-type entity, and the first doppelgänger-type entity, sharing identical appearance and mechanic features to A-60, from Section A. It makes its first appearance a few rooms ahead of the previous entity, E-42, and multiple rooms before the next entity, E-142. E-60 was one of the first three entities to roam the section when it was initially released, and would make its appearance at its designated room number.

Upon opening a door, E-60 will take a few seconds to spawn, then denoting its presence from various whirring sounds, that are accompanied by static that akin to E-22, resonating throughout the rooms. Like the previous Section E entities, E-60 is also another instant-kill entity that kills any player that unluckily aren't able to seek safety within an eroded locker or under an enveloped table which results in them ending up within its kill radius, killing them instantaneously.

The entity's behavior is similar to other runner-type entities, as it starts from the beginning of the section — within the intermediate room or the lobby depending if the player has used a checkpoint or not. It will begin traversing through the rooms until reaching the final room where it will then remain idle in the center of the room (or near the door), and then descending into the floor and despawning. E-60's mechanic is very similar to A-60's, though a barely noticeable difference in E-60's mechanic is the aspect where it gains more speed with each occurence, with it's first spawn being slow, and every subsequent spawn being slightly faster than the previous.

To put this mechanic into perspective, when E-60 makes its first appearance, it will move slower than E-22, but near the end of the section, E-60 will move as fast or even faster than E-142. Despite this somewhat intimidating mechanic, it isn't much trouble considering how loud the entity is and its presence being able to be identified several seconds before it arrives.

Adding onto previously stated information, when E-60 arrives in the most recently opened room, it will remain idle in the room for about four seconds before slowly descending into the floor and despawning, as its sounds seem to lower in pitch and volume until becoming silent once it finally despawns. If a player leaves their hiding spot early while E-60 is its despawning phase, it will kill them immediately. After despawning, it might not appear for another one to eight minutes, and once said time has passed, it will start to spawn again.

E-60 doesn't seem to pose much danger until rooms past E-200, where all entities of the section are able to spawn, as well as E-60 now being fast enough to catch up to the player in approximately 20 seconds. But, before that point, players have enough time to learn how the entity functions and behaves when present. Knowing that E-60 gains speed the further the player goes results in E-60 not being much of a dangerous entity when it appears. E-60 is an entity that is just as common as E-22 and E-42 and is another threat players must learn to overcome.

Appearance

E-60 appears as an entity with a multitude of faces that alternate between one another, some of them being A-60's faces but heavily disfigured. It is followed by a black fog. Below can be seen a description of each face's appearance, alongside the face itself.

The first of the six faces appears to be a redrawn version on one of A-60's faces, having been edited to exhibit a much more disturbing look. Its eyes emit a red glow with a whiter glow in the center of it, which seem to be shaped in a non-linear diagonal way. Rather than having sharp, jagged teeth it appears to be finely rounded. Similar treatment of shaping has been applied to its mouth as well, giving it an arc-like look.

The second of its six faces can be described as a face with a psychotic expression, staring down the player with a crazed look in its eyes that are surrounded by black mist-like stains that blend into the perimeters of its mouth, almost like tears. It reveals several rounded teeth with a mouth that coalesce together at some points, or are remnants that may originate from the black fluid that is seemingly secreted from its eyes.

The third of the six faces appears to exhibit a deranged look on its face, having its mouth opened also revealing several rounded teeth. It eyes are noticeably widen which reveal white colored eyes with hollow pupils, only being a white dot in the center of the pupils.

The fourth of the six faces appears to be another face with a deranged look, staring at the player with very widened eyes along with very dilated pupils void of anything. It has a very sinister grin that reveal hyper-realistic human teeth that are very similar to that of A-221's teeth. They also appear to be grey-scaled and heavily saturated.

The fifth of the six faces appears to be another one of A-60's faces, which has been grey-scaled and altered. Its eyes seemed to be widened to a degree than it initially was along with its pupils — they appear to be bloodshot. Its mouth is also widened and its unaltered image appears to be an image of an open wound. Overall, it seems to be a screaming face.

The sixth and final face appears to be another variant of A-60's faces, that being Giygas' face from EarthBound. It appears to be depixelated and fitted with a pastel-red to black gradient. It lacks its noticeable spiral effect that the original Giygas has, as well as the warp-effect on its face.

Only two faces are present, overlapping each other before switching to another face. In addition, all the grey-scaled faces appear red in-game due to E-60's glow.

In the April Fools 2024 event, E-60 takes on their second face with a chill look, a closed mouth, wearing a top hat while holding a cup of tea, giving a fanciness look.

Strategy & Tips

  • As mentioned with other runner-type entities, E-60 can be avoided by hiding within an eroded locker or under a table. Players should not leave their hiding spot until the entity has completely despawned.
  • When E-60 spawns for the first time, players are able to continue a bit further into the section as it is relatively slow. However, it is recommended that upon reach rooms beyond E-200, that players do not continue practicing this method as the entity gains enough speed to catch up in seconds.

Glitches & Bugs

  • Like most Section E, E-60 can be easily avoided by hugging the walls in a Visceral Room, as its hitbox isn't large enough to reach that point.
  • In the Entity Extravaganza Part 1 version in THE HISTORY, E-60 will only spawn once.
    • This also happens with E-200.

Notes

  • E-60 accumulates more speed the more rooms the player traverses through. Players should be cautious whenever they hear its sound cue, as it could arrive into the room quicker than it did initially.
  • The speed E-60 goes at each encounter is:
    • First encounter: 3.158 Rooms per second (300 Studs per second);
    • Second encounter: 4.737 Rooms per second (450 Studs per second);
    • Third encounter: 7.895 Rooms per second (750 Studs per second);
    • Fourth encounter: 11.053 Rooms per second (1050 Studs per second);
    • Fifth encounter and onwards: 12.632 Rooms per second (1200 Studs per second).
  • E-60, when first added, used to reach its maximum speed after 8 encounters instead of 5, and started at a slower speed. The speed E-60 went at each encounter is:
    • First encounter: 1.579 Rooms per second (150 Studs per second);
    • Second encounter: 3.158 Rooms per second (300 Studs per second);
    • Third encounter: 4.737 Rooms per second (450 Studs per second);
    • Fourth encounter: 6.316 Rooms per second (600 Studs per second);
    • Fifth encounter: 7.895 Rooms per second (750 Studs per second);
    • Sixth encounter: 9.474 Rooms per second (900 Studs per second);
    • Seventh encounter: 11.053 Rooms per second (1050 Studs per second);
    • Eight encounter and onwards: 12.632 Rooms per second (1200 Studs per second).

Trivia

  • Zvardin has given a few entities official nicknames, like how A-60 being called "The Multi-Monster" by nicorocks5555. E-60 is one of those few entities, being given the nickname of "The Doppelgänger", although this isn't referenced in-game. [1]
  • E-60 is one of the few doppelgänger entities, it being an evident doppelgänger to A-60.
  • E-60’s idle sound is a Roblox audio called "Radio Static Loop."
  • E-60 is one of, if not the only entity the player can outrun. If the player opens and enters the next room as E-60 is one room behind the current room, the player will be safe in the next room as it registers the previous room as the current room, causing it to despawn and leaving the player unscathed. This is likely a bug that will be patched eventually. This seems to always occur when checkpoints are used that cause E-60 spawns. This only works the first time players encounter it in a run, as its speed-up mechanic causes it to overshoot into the next room.
  • E-60 spawns immediately alongside E-22 at E-001 whenever the player chooses a checkpoint above E-1 (e.g. E-100, E-200, etc.). It is unsure whether this is intentional or not. When choosing checkpoints E-200 and E-300, E-142 will spawn alongside the two — appearing a few seconds after E-60.
  • E-60's second design was probably inspired by 'scary face 2.0' due to the mouth looking similar.
  • E-60 is aware of A-60's existence due to it being a doppelgänger of the latter, however, this is the only Section A entity E-60 knows of.[2]
    • A-60, however, is not aware of E-60.[3]
    • E-60 could also possibly be aware of X-60 due to X-versions being relatively the same entity as their normal counterpart.
    • This also means E-60 could be aware of XX-60.
    • Though this can't be true because of the fact that XX-60 is not an entity that is canon.
  • E-60 shares three (or possibly more) similar faces to its original counterpart, A-60.
  • E-60 used to only spawn once due to a room bug, but this was patched in part two of Entity Extravaganza.
    • This also happened with V-50.
    • This also happened with E-200 until it got patched at the same time the same glitch with E-60 got fixed.
  • E-60's fourth face is the only one unique to the entity, as the base image seen in A-60 has since been removed.
  • Unlike A-60, E-60 instead does not have random faces in its jumpscare.
  • According to Zvardin, E-60 sells organs of the people it killed or found dead on the dark web.[4]
  • Though it is a doppelganger of A-60, E-60 is ironically allergic to what the latter sells, that being apples.[5]
  • E-60 is somewhat younger than A-60.[6]
    • E-60's young age may be the reason why it is trying to mimic A-60; it appears similar to it because it is trying to mimic it. [7]
  • E-60 finds E-1s annoying. The reason is unknown however, though it can be assumed that the reason why is identical to why some players find E-1 annoying.[8]
  • E-60 likes peanut butter.[8]
  • If there was an XE-60, it would be yellow to mimic X-60.
  • E-60 and E-22 know the actual names of E-142 and E-144 while their mother, Alexio, was visiting. Both started to laugh before being beaten up by E-142.[9]
  • E-60 is British. This might be why E-60 is seen drinking tea in it's April Fools 2024 design. [10]
  • During April Fools 2024. E-60 makes a classic music and has one sprite instead and drinking a tea at the end.
