Description
V-5, also nicknamed as the "The Wretched",[1] is the first entity of Section V and the first tracking-type (e.g A-200, A-332, DG-1, CHA-1, & E-144) entity of said section. Like other trackers, it will only follow players under conditions such as if the player is yet to find a hiding spot or has left their hiding spot. V-5 was added in the second part of the Entity Extravaganza update which added the entity along with its section and other entities. The entity makes its debut as the first entity of the section and will appear 22 rooms before the next entity, V-27.
As its name implies, V-5 will spawn when room V-005 is opened, spawning in the centre of the room and shaking slightly while making a brief paroxysm of noise of 8-bit-like noises, followed by a sound similar to a slight whirring noise, or 'charging-up' noise, given its arcade/future-like nature. It also has a unique sound effect for whenever it is hopping, which can serve as an indicator for the hops. When V-5 despawns, a loud 8-bit noise will be heard, and the entity will shake violently and fade away.
Though V-5's mechanic is worthy of being deemed as 'non-hazardous', it poses as more of an hindrance. As mentioned before, V-5 will track and follow players. The entity spawns at the centre of the room and will remain stationary for a few seconds before hopping towards the nearest player to damage them, dealing approximately an eighth to a sixth of the player's health per hit and will continue to do so until the player has either hidden within a locker or table or has made enough distance with the entity that it cannot damage the player anymore. V-5 is capable of hindering the player's progress as it is the most frequently-appearing entity of the section and can have a lifespan of up to 25-40 seconds.
Appearance
V-5 appears to be a triclops (resembling A-300 & CHA-1) with a very apparent frown. The entity itself is fitted with a light-purple outline. Its circular eyes have a black sclera, a very thin purple iris, and very dilated pupils.
V-5 emits a bluish-purple glow that changes to red, orange, blue, dark green and purple at specific intervals.
Strategy & Tips
- V-5 shouldn't pose too big a threat since its attacks are easy to dodge and only deal a small amount of health if they are successful.
- The player can simply walk around V-5 without an issue. It won't be much of a problem if the player loses some health as it is a small amount and can easily be regenerated.
- Hiding in a locker or table can prevent V-5 from attacking the player. This method will always work.
- There is a way to make V-5 no-clip through a wall and fall into the void due to the entity being able to do so.
- Whenever V-5 spawns, if there's a locker on the left of the room, a player can immediately jump on top of it and enter the locker from the top. Doing so will trick V-5 into thinking the player is still on top of the locker, making it teleport there and possibly no-clipping through the wall and falling into the void.
- This may not always work as it isn't guaranteed that V-5 will no-clip through the wall.

- Players can attempt to stun or fling V-5 by jumping on top of it numerous times, though there's a likely chance it will do neither. If successful, players can make a run for the next room to make distance from the entity
- This isn't recommended as V-5 can attack the player before being able to hop on it.
Notes
- Although hiding always works against V-5's attacks, this strategy can waste a lot of time due to V-5's often long lifespan.
- There is a slight chance that two V-5's will spawn in the same room.
- As earlier mentioned, V-5 can occasionally no-clip through walls while hopping, although it is uncertain when this can occur.
- This can sometimes result in the entity falling into the void.
- V-5 had an 1/50 chance of its spawn sound being replaced by its new spawn sound, hinting at its rework.
Trivia
- Similar to how A-60 and A-200 have nicknames, Zvardin, with the help of IR: Rebuilt developer Ping, has given V-5 a nickname, being "The Wretched", however, this is not referenced in-game. [1]
- V-5 says "AwwA AeeuGH" in its sound, with this line being said many times by Zvardin.
- V-5, along with E-22 and E-1, was a part of some "leaked entities" shown in Zvardin's community posts on YouTube.
- V-5 is one of the few entities that can change colours, the others being A-300, A-350, Rainbow-200, XV-5, E-175, E-120 and U-60.
- V-5 is the first entity that is able to move in a way that isn't running, the second being DG-1.
- During the April Fools 2023 Event, there was a chance for dozens of V-5's to spawn in one room.
- Not including April Fools 2023 Event entities and IRBI200P entities, V-5 is the only entity whose room number is a prime number.
- According to Zvardin, V-5 likes to skateboard. [2]
- According to Zvardin, V-5 is multilingual and can speak in more than one language. [Reference Needed]
- V-5 is the first entity in Section V to gain its own X-Variant, that being XV-5.
- V-5 attempted to sing "Virtual Insanity" in a video that Zvardin made, although this is not canon as confirmed by Zvardin.
- The video has been removed, sadly.
- According to Zvardin, V-5's favorite game is Frogger.[3]
- V-5 has the most rooms between it and the previous entity (E-200), being 204.
- If counting entities from the Recoded Update (E-387), this gap would be 17 rooms.
- V-5s are a weird unstable combination of organism and machine.[4]
- V-5 acts like a frog.
- If V-5 in his 2024 April Fools apple form gets in the path of V-27 in his Baldi form, V-5 will be consumed by V-27 as a play to the giving Baldi an apple joke.
- A specific V-5 named Forgis once found a secret stash (which is likely a bunch of cocaine), strugglingly opened it, and inevitably spazzed out from the contents of the stash. [as seen here.]
- The story also said that V-5s can’t read.
- A group of V-5s is called a froimps.[5]
- the April fools sound is from this vid at 3:20
